Pandemic stress may lead to hair loss.

Thinning hair which can lead to premature baldness is caused by a lot of factors. If not detected and treated at its early stage, it can be a bit distressing.

Methods of treating hair loss range from taking hair-growth medicines which may come with a number of undesirable side effects, application of serums on the scalp which can cause some allergic reactions, or hair transplant surgery which is quite costly.

The most common form of alopecia (hair loss) is the androgenic type, which occurs due to the follicles’ sensitivity to androgen hormones. The increased levels of androgen in hair follicles can shorten and delay the growth cycle of new hair strands replacing those that were shed. This type of alopecia affects 70% of men and 40% of women in a certain period of age. It is important to note that the pattern of baldness in men differs from the hair loss pattern in women. Men will have receding hairline at the temples and develop balding while women will have scattered hair thinning at the top.

If you think you are suffering from androgenic alopecia, you may want to consider a treatment based on the most updated regenerative medicine protocol available today, Regenera Activa. This outpatient treatment with very little downtime stops the disorder and revitalizes the hair to promote growth from other living or ‘hypo-functioning’ follicles.

Regenera Activa is available at the Centre Medicale Internationale (CMI). It is an advanced, innovative hair growth treatment that uses one’s own cells to combat hair loss in both men and women. This procedure is done only for about 30 to 45 minutes with practically no downtime.

Regenera Activa involves the sterilized collection of small skin samples from the occipital area of the scalp, the area least susceptible to hair loss. These samples are then processed in the Regenera Activa device to isolate progenitor cells, stem cells and growth factors formed into a highly-concentrated suspension. It is this suspension that will be gently re-introduced to the bald areas of the scalp – to initiate the hair repair process, the stimulation of blood vessel formation and regeneration of hair follicles.

It is advisable to avoid saunas, swimming pools, and excessive sun exposure of the scalp for three days after the treatment. In as early as 14 days, hair loss reduction can happen, with density and thickness of area and scalp coverage improving in as short as three to six months.

The Regenera Activa technology was developed in Spain, earning the CE Mark and US Food & Drug Administration approval. This non-surgical, outpatient procedure is fast, highly-effective and performed entirely by the board-certified dermatologists of CMI, in the privacy of its well-appointed dermatology suite.

CMI is a multi-specialty premier outpatient clinic centrally located in BGC, with over 140 specialists on its roster. It was conceptualized and built, and has been operating, with the utmost safety of its patients in mind. Among its many safety features, most notable are the fact that CMI is on negative pressure airflow and that its high-efficiency particulate absorbing (HEPA) filter are built into the clinic’s structure. Offering Regenera Activa is the latest of CMI’s initiatives to continue to provide convenient, safe and premier outpatient care for its patients.
