Dr. Lapitan is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist. She is a graduate of the Far Eastern University –Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation Institute of Medicine. She completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at the Dr. Jesus C. Delgado Memorial Hospital. She then completed a fellowship in obstetric and gynecologic sonology at the United Doctors Medical Cente. She is a fellow of the Philippine Obsetrical and Gynecological Society and the Philippine Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
